What can be said about a man who was the very personification of strength, energy and confidence? Swamiji's master, Sri Ramakrishna, very aptly said so about his beloved disciple who was addressed fondly by him as Naren "Naren will shake the very foundations of the earth!"

And that is what he did exactly. By preaching a religion that embraced entire humanity, regardless of caste and creed, he advocated a new doctrine, that of oneness of God and the basically good nature of man. Fire and strength emanated from him when he spoke. His words were like heavy rain drops falling on dry, burning hearts and quenching a deep thirst, a thirst for faith in oneself and faith in God. He speaks to you through his books. One can only imagine the impact his speeches must have made on those who directly heard from him.

The great Rabindranath Tagore once said, "To know India, study Swami Vivekananda". Swamiji's love for his country remains unparalleled as on date. Once an English soldier asked Swamiji, "How may I help you,Sir?" to which came the bold reply, "Love India"!!!
That is the sort of patriotism one should have.

Wish that Swamiji were there with us today... Though he may not be present physically, his books and works have made him immortal. Like Swamiji wished, may all shun their weaknesses and be what they actually are i.e. Children of immortal bliss.
