HOW YOU GO ABOUT IT
It’s simple. You need to make a written request to the PIO of the department concerned on plain paper. English, Hindi or the official language of the state will do.
HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD IT TAKE
It should never take more than 30 days the law, actually, says the public information officer shall have to dispose of the request as expeditiously as possible. A delay will be considered a refusal to furnish the information.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST
At Rs 10, it’s cheaper than a meal. The money can be paid in cash or by a demand draft or a banker’s cheque payable to the authority concerned alternatively, you affix a court-fee stamp of Rs 10.

You do not have to give any reason for seeking the information or any other personal details (except those needed to contact you).

You can have free access to the information you will have an hour to go through it in the official’s room. A nomimal charge will be levied after an hour of leafing through. You can have photocopies after paying for the cost.
